Splurge is such a great word, isn’t it? Who says retail has to be boring? I love these spots.

The icing on the cake was getting the original Dr Who to voice them. The end super end was made for real. And we managed to persuade the client to make for real, as in a 4 metre version outside their head office in Milton, Brisbane. Unfortunately they’ve moved on since, and it was taken down. Great client. Miss ’em.

The tv ad belows features the Australian jet ski champion. And just as well. We took over Versace’s at the Gold Coast. Only had 2 takes of this. Dry the set in between, then rush off upstairs to shoot the second tv.  And I really tried to get this jelly bed made for real. Just to get into the Guinness Book of records. But we couldn’t freeze the amount of jelly required in time.

Jellyyyyyy

Second tvc my favourite. These do not feel like 15 second ads. Especially with an unusually long super of 7 seconds. But it works. The long take and dead pan typography for the first half contrasts beautifully with the ‘in your face’ editing and unusual imagery/story telling in the next 4 seconds. And this shows you don’t have to see thee accident or money shot. Great editing and sound effects lets your imagination see it. The maid obviously has seen all before.
