The relaunch of Ladbrokes in Australia. First of all, look at the competition. And in this case, it was, (and still is), over the top Aussie bloke ness. We paid homage to the heritage of the UK brand and searched high aand low for a London Cockney lad. He was the real deal. Makes all the difference. With the cockney accent, Ladbrokes stood out. In radio. Even in outdoor.

The Introduction of the lads…

Ladbrokes had, and still do, have this appetite to launch to market first. They offered an eftpos card, so your winnings could be deposited as soon as the horse ran past the post. Gold. We had something different to talk about. Here is the introduction of the lads. Including Nigel…

The Shout

Ladbrokes were established as a gambling alternative in Australia by now. To up the anti, they managed to get VISA on board as a sweet offering to their members. All winnings can go straight onto your VISA card. We came up with the concept of mates out shouting one another, as they do. Well, if you’re paying for lunch, I’ll shout the drinks. We’ll then I’ll shout the next thing. And so on... It turned into a mini Hangover movie. Just swap the tiger for a horse.

Ladbrokes NRL brand

This was a fun shoot. Once we established the Ladbrokes Lounge, a ‘man cave’ set that was any sport nut’s dream room, we could shoot anything. It had a bar, pool table, the sports throne based on Game of Thrones throne, a stable, and a dog. And it was flat packed away for the next run of ads for the next sports category.

Ladbrokes NRL retail

Quite easy to retail these. Just take some key scenes from the brand 30, and donut a grass background with the supers on the field. I put a different end graphic on these. Reservoir dogs style.
