Bottle-oh!

Don’t judge me. This tvc wouldn’t be made today. But it did well on the’ funniest tv advert’ circuit. The trick for alcohol advertising it to create an excuse to celebrate. To socialise. Party. And therefore drink. Sounds obvious. In this instance, we set the scene in a bottlo. Great excuse for product. And the concept of a fancy dress party on down the road. Simple. But we exaggerated the costumes. The safest costumes were the last ones. But were they going to the party? The budget wasn’t anywhere near that of the main brand. My favourite character was the one that couldn’t make into the bottlo' – a guy in a Dr Who Dalek costume.

Funny thing about this product. The ad worked well. Won launch of the year for the category. But the product tasted terrible. Crazy how a successful company is so set in their procedures. They should’ve tweaked the flavour, but would’ve missed their launch date. I always say I can make someone try something once, not twice. That’s up to the product.
